This policy explains what happens to your data on valentincojocaru.com. The site is run by Valentin Cojocaru, based in Cluj-Napoca, Romania, who decides how this data is used. To reach me about anything here, use the contact form.

What I collect

I only get personal data when you send it to me, plus the small amount a web server needs to work.

I don't sell your data, I don't use it for advertising and I don't make automated decisions about you.

Who else is involved

A few outside companies handle data so the site can work:

  • My hosting provider stores the site, its database and its logs, and handles email.
  • Google Fonts, cdnjs (Cloudflare) and jsDelivr deliver the fonts and scripts. Your browser connects to them directly, so they see your IP address.
  • Google reCAPTCHA checks the contact form for spam, and only loads if you allow external content.
  • YouTube and Vimeo play embedded videos, and only load if you allow external content.

Some of these companies may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. They rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.

How long I keep it

  • Contact messages: up to 3 years after our last exchange, unless we work together and the law requires me to keep records for longer.
  • Newsletter addresses: until you unsubscribe. Every email has a link for that.
  • Page counts and server logs: up to 12 months.

Your rights

You can ask me for a copy of your data, and ask me to correct it, delete it or limit how I use it. You can also object to how I use it, receive it in a portable format, and withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawing doesn't affect anything done before you changed your mind.

Use the contact form and I'll reply within a month. If you think I've handled your data badly, you can complain to the Romanian data protection authority, ANSPDCP, at dataprotection.ro.

Security and children

The site runs over HTTPS and access to the admin area is restricted. No system is completely safe, so please don't send passwords or other credentials through the contact form. The site isn't aimed at children under 16.
